SewVery Sunny Top Pattern Tour

Here is another pattern that I am very excited to show you!
It is the SewVery Sun Top & Dress PDF Pattern. The pattern was originally made for Melly Sews (also known as the designer of Blank Slate Patterns) 30 days of Sundresses! It was a big hit, and she made is into a full graded pattern from sizes 2-12. That is perfect to use as they grow. It also makes it so easy to modify according to measurements.
This pattern is the perfect summer top and dress. It is simple, modest and easy to dress up or layer for fall and winter. I have lots of visions of how I can make different versions so don’t be surprised if it becomes a habitual obsession with me 😉

The first version I made was for my 3 year old. I wanted to use their Sofia the First fabric, so I opted for the simple version of the top. Can I just say how perfect that decision was? I love it! She has worn it several times and she gave her approval for the rotation.

This pattern is very well explained, easy to follow, and easy to make! The only thing you need is elastic. No buttons, no zippers. I am really falling in love with the “tie” options for clothing.  It can be tied straight back, criss cross, or even halter style.
She put herself in the corner, that was not my doing

The next version made was the ruffle version, also in a top, for my 8 year old. I have this very light and breezy vintage blue fabric that I chose for her. I loved the simplicity of the fabric with the ruffle detail. It was a very sweet combination.

I think it gives off a very classic look. I feel like she could be playing around climbing trees in a midcentury summer day.
Since I had already made the first one with very thorough attention to the directions, number 2 version was so fast to whip up. Once you know how to put it together, it is an under hour project.

Your girls are so sweet and pretty, and I'm happy they like their Sunny tops so well. My daughter would love the Sofia the First one! Thanks for testing the pattern and for being on the tour!
