Hey there! I am up on tour today with Little Kiwis Closet for her latest pattern, the bow back beauty. It is a peplum style lap tee that can be done in a variety of ways including basic top, two lengths with peplum, dress, as well sleeveless to long sleeve. My daughter absolutely loves the fit of hers that she has, which she has 4 so far. The fun thing about this top isn’t just the lap tee, but also the back feature that gives a bow cutout.
My daughter’s school has been ultra conservative about backs showing lately, so we decided to do the full back instead. However, I do have the bow back versions to show you first!
Size range of the pattern: NB to 12Y
Options: Waist or dropwaist, shirt, tunic or dress, sleeveless, short sleeve, or long sleeve, onesie, plain or bow back.
Pattern details: Includes color coded sizes, easy to understand directions, measurements for all binding pieces, fabric recommendations and yardage, size chart
Fabric choice is a big factor in this pattern. The first top was a slinkier and stretchy knit and I could have gone down a size. The firmer knit on the second shirt held up much better. With my new top, the full back is fine in a slinkier knit.
I love the ease of the instructions, and the pattern pieces were all easy to read. It’s important to pay attention to your front and back piece because they are similar shapes, but slightly different. I definitely will be considering this a staple piece with the large size range, onesie option, and sleeves making it for all seasons.
Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway for your chance to win the pattern.
