Sunday Lately: Get my Body in Check

Hello Sunday. It’s you again…. and thank you 8 pound, 6 ounce newborn infant Jesus for letting football season almost being over. I swear, if I have to hear my 13 yr old talk about Cam Newton one more time, I may do something inhumane. I’m just not into sports right now (and that is not just because my team sucked balls this season.) However that doesn’t mean my front room isn’t being invaded by moto and basketball. Just no nascar. PLEASE!!!

It has been a very busy start to the new year and of course, I have lots of things that I am making. I’m just a makin’ machine. Which also means I am not a cleaning machine. My kids are old enough to clean up after themselves, so why aren’t they cleaning.

So on the makes agenda (that I can reveal.)
– Made for Mermaids Megan Romper and Dress *affiliate link*
– Coffee & Thread Eleena Dress
– Straight Stitch Designs Montlake Tee
– Patterns for Pirates Pinspiredpirate (the pin) contest aka my Pumpkin Spice Dolman Cardigan

I’ve been doing great on my clean vegan diet, which can be a bit trying. 3 weeks in and I have not had sugar. That is a major feat for me, if you know how much I love sugar. I feel like I am always cooking and that is ok because I am finding flavors and new things to make.

1.Sweet & spicy tea 2. Making some chickpea and flax pasta (recipe)
3. Carrot fries with vegan fry sauce and turnip salad 4. Avocado and pasta salad

Not to toot my own horn, but I’m really proud of how far I have come, and tomorrow, I start the city weight loss challenge so that means we are going full force into (hopefully) burning some of this stubborn fat and get my thyroid going. The weather is so crazy in California right now and since we live in this higher elevation, we get pretty cold and windy winters with some sunny days in between. So one week we have lots of rain due to El Nino then next week sunny, crisp days. On the nicer days, I make my little preschooler walk one way to school with me which is 2.25 miles. Bonus to that is she sleeps much better at night and learns to be active.

Those beautiful snow capped mountains are the San Gabriel mountains I can see out my window everyday.
One of my goals this year is to climb the peak: San Antonio Mountain aka Mt Baldy  which is around 10,000 feet high

So I have lots of tours coming up this month, and exciting artistic project to be a part of more patterns I will be able to tell you all about soon.

I have finally figured out what I want to do with my blog and what kind of vision I have to for the future, so I will reveal it all very soon.

I am also super excited to be a part of a very exciting project coming soon from one of the maniacal geniuses I love. And on top of that, I found my #girlsquad haha It sounds so lame, but I have been able to mingle and enjoy the creativity and well, just all around awesome of some fantastic ladies in the sewing/blogging/testing crowd. On our own, we are probably a bit awkward, or at least I am… but all together- oh world, watch out! You can read up on my favorite ladies at these blogs:
Candice AyalaJust Add FabricSansahashKaleidothoughtBonnie & Lottie and I secretly have made Angie Burgett a part of it because I obsess over all her makes, and she is now a part of the Lil Luxe team.
