1 Pattern 3 Ways: FAM Elisa

I am quite late to this as things managed to get way beyond hectic, mostly because I was going crazy this summer with my kids. Is there an age where they stop fighting nonstop? Yes, this late submission is all my fault! But I am here and excited to show you one of my favorite patterns because it is fast and easy to hack for this pattern for the 1 Pattern 3 Ways tour from Sew Not Perfect. It is a really easy and stylish halter top from Filles a Maman

Look 1: Woven as designed in the pattern. The only difference I made is making the straps like bias tape rather than using a tool to make a small tube.

Looks 2: A woven version hacked to a dress. I put a quick and dirty tutorial together HERE to show how to do it.

Look 3: Knit version minus the flounce. This was from St. Patricks day and one of the kids needed an outfit so I used a too small shirt from brother, and made the halter ties with knit bias. I also used that to enclose the seams around the arms and neck. It is fast and easy to show off a shirt with a cool design or as a blank canvas, You can also use the front and back pattern pieces and just create a lining.

These are my first two versions in knit and woven HERE I made when the pattern was in testing, and she has finally grown out of them 😦

A few more tips to get the most out of this pattern:

1) Mix fabrics like lace and jerseys for a fun detail
2) Use ribbon or braids for ties
3) Sew in the straps to create a tank rather than a halter
4) Lengthen for tunic
5) Add elastic to waist for a cinched look
6) Leave off flounce. Line or use bias tape to finish.

Thanks for stopping by. and again, sorry for the late arrival. I will be back next week after I finish my Mulberry Tunics in different ways!

Stay Rebellious!
